May I share with you what is bringing me joy this week?
Oh, right. Mother, may I?
Thank you very much.
This week. {sigh}
All I can do is shuffle around in my not-so fluffy slippers and mutter under my breath, 'Craziness, craziness, craziness'. I wonder how long it will take for my kids to have me committed.
Crazy in a good way, crazy in a busy way, crazy in a, well, crazy way.
That's why I need to review the small joys and blessings that have come about this week. This is way more for me than for you guys. Just sayin'...
Joy #1 - I don't have to have a hernia operation. Not that that was even an issue. I'm perfectly fine. I just count it a joy that that is not anywhere on the radar screen.
Joy #2 - I got to stay up late last night with my handsome hubby to watch a suspense/action movie that we've both been dying to see. Even though we both had to get up way too early this morning, it was totally worth it.
Joy #3 - Bubba coming up to me and just throwing his arms around me to give me a hug. Seeing as this has been a rarity up until the past couple of weeks, at first I thought he was trying to body slam me to the ground. Thankfully, I'm stronger than my five year old, but not for long. And I sure do love those hugs.
Joy #4 - I love having girls (although the boys are awesome, too). I just spent time in one of my favorite places, picking out hair ribbons and flowers to make into adorable hair things for them. For some reason, the boys haven't really taken to the whole hair bow thing. Thankfully, the girls have and we can really go to town in that little mom 'n pop store.
Joy #5 - God bringing us into a different relationship with him and each other. We've had so much happen in the past weeks and so we've had to allow Him to work in our lives (as painful as it is) and continue to change us into what he wants us to be. It's always an adventure with Him, isn't it?
I am so thankful for these little joys in the midst of life. Even when it seems that we have only little things to be thankful for, He is always faithful.
And then we realize that we have a whole lot more than we think we have.
PS Yesterday I wrote a post about you telling me how you met your honey, love, sweetheart, darling (okay, you get the picture!). I would love to hear your story, 'cuz I'm nosey like that!
