Tears of Quiche-Lovin' Joy

My husband loves me.  I think it's because I make things like quiche for him for Father's Day.

I love that my kids know what quiche is.  They're so chic and sophisticated.  Just saying the word makes me feel oh, so French and sassy.

Not that they actually eat it, though.  Make that semi-chic and sophisticated.

Our Father's Day breakfast menu included this Breakfast Quiche recipe that I found on Taste of Home.  Original name, I know.

This recipe was so good that it brought tears to my hubby's eyes.  At first, I thought it was the lovingly, thoughtful cards that his wife and kids made for him.  Then I thought it was the onions.  No, he was just in food heaven.

So, if you're looking for ways to bring tears to your guy's eyes, you simply must try this recipe.

It goes a little somethin' like this:

Ingredients

1 unbaked pastry shell (9 inches)
12 bacon strips, cooked and crumbled
1/2 cup shredded pepper Jack or Monterey Jack cheese
1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/3 cup finely chopped onion
4 eggs
2 cups heavy whipping cream
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon sugar
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Directions

Line unpricked pastry shell with a double thickness of heavy-duty foil. Bake at 450° for 5 minutes; remove foil. Bake 5 minutes longer; remove from the oven and let cool.

Sprinkle bacon, cheeses and onion over the crust. In a bowl, beat eggs, cream, salt, sugar and cayenne; pour into the crust. Bake at 375° for 30-35 minutes or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean. Yield: 6-8 servings

One more look for the road...

Try it and experience tears of joy with your man.
