The girls are doing girly things and I'm at a crossroads. I can either futilely attempt to take a nap after getting everyone up and to church by 8:30 this morning or I can organize something that really needs to be organized and I've been putting off for weeks now because I didn't have a spare minute but now that I have a spare minute, I really don't want to.
Or... I could avoid the organizing job (I never claimed to be self-disciplined or even motivated) and hop on Pinterest. You know, just for a few minutes.
Three hours later (okay, not really three hours, but you get the idea), I emerge from my Pinterest-coma and feel victorious that I have now found every single thing that I can do to make my children's home school journey more enjoyable while they're actually learning something.
Where's my trophy? Surely there's one around here somewhere. I'll just dust off Sambo's soccer participation trophy from last fall and plop it right here on the desk next to me.
I love homeschooling our kids. Really, really love it. Last year, as I've said before, was kind of a challenging year for me, so I'm really looking forward to making it fun for every one this time around. Well, Pinterest came to the rescue. During my comatose time today, here's what I found:
Presidential Guess Who?! Just as fun for Mama as for the kids.

Perfect for my first grader, Livy, a Greater Than, Less Than alligator. This is exactly how I remember learning it ten thousand years ago:

How fun is this, place value sliders? Easy and effective, for sure.

(from The Teaching Nest)
And then for Mama's organization challenge (heaven knows I need all the help I can get):
But here's my real favorite:

Oh, wait. That has nothing to do with home schooling? Hmmm. You're right, as usual.
If you want to see all my fun pins on Pinterest for homeschooling or just about anything else, use my cute little button way up there at the top!

Ah Pinterest... I love it, but it sucks me in and lose all track of time and space! lol!
ReplyDeleteI know! That's why I'm trying to use it for good! Sometimes it works, sometimes, mmmm not so much.
