Sixth grade, second grade and first grade. We're starting our seventh year of homeschooling. My jaw is hitting the keyboard just with writing that simple fact. Aren't we still the homeschool newbies 'round these parts? Guess not. Wait, aren't I still supposed to be in high school? Whoa. Guess not.
Back to the business at hand. We started easing into school this year. There was no way after our lounging, book binge-ing summer were we ready to start back into real life full throttle. Today we just started with some of the basics, getting done with school (and chores!) before lunch. Children sprang out of bed with joyful hearts and actually asked for extra work when we were done with school.
No, I'm not kidding.
Mwahahahahahahahahaha! Just you wait my pretties. Just you wait.
Sixth grade. Stop it. It's killing me.
Second grade. {gulp}
First grade. {teary}
Wannabe.
He learned to love cupcakes today.
I taught him myself.
I wish every day could be the first day of school. Happy children, new text and workbooks, chores done early and cupcakes for dessert after lunch.
Maybe tomorrow will be like that too?

It's always exciting the first day! Maybe something about the routine and all your new school supplies. They are your children ya know...and you know your love for school supplies. :) HUGS!!!
ReplyDeleteI know! If only every day could be like the first day with sharpened pencils and pointy crayons...
ReplyDeleteYes, school supplies, how I love thee. {sigh}
