Five Minute Friday - Graceful
More like "grace-less".
Clutzy, always falling down (or up) the stairs, tripping over things that couldn't be seen by the naked eye, I somehow managed to make it through my growing up years with precious few black-eyes and only one broken bone.
But I wanted to be, with all my heart, like a ballerina, graceful, elegant, tall.
I ended up being a slightly chubby, 5'2" mama of five.
Ballerina-esque? Ha.
Tall? Only in my dreams.
Elegant? Hee, hee.
Graceful? Nope.
But full of grace? Maybe. I hope so.
Two daughters have inherited my "not-so-graceful-ness". Yup. We're short, fire-crackery kinds of gals.
We may be wee, but were fierce, let me tell ya.
So graceful, no. But full of grace, yes.
And definitely, always fun-sized.
Won't you come and join the party at The Gypsy Mama? You just write for five minutes, no editing or backtracking, just writing for the joy of it on the prompt she gives us, link up and then visit others who have linked up, too!

Great post and I can so relate. I too have not been gifted with gracefulness...but am full of grace!
ReplyDeleteFull of grace... graceful. He always knows our hearts, doesn't He?
DeleteWe are neighbors today...Great things come in small packages...and each package can be packed with grace..blessings to you~
ReplyDeleteSo nice to meet you, Ro! Great things DO come in small packages, that's for sure.
DeleteI love this line: "So graceful, no. But full of grace, yes." I, too, am short (and short on gracefulness), but bask in HIS grace.
ReplyDeleteLove your transparency, my friend!
We short girls need to stick together, right? At least I always feel petite standing next to my 6'2" hubby. And basking in His grace is one of my favorite things to do!
DeletePerhaps you simply possess a different type of grace? :)
