This week's word? Welcome.
Welcome to our home. Please come in.
The front door opens, you come into our home, squeezing and squishing into our hearts. When you come here, it's not merely as a guest, but someone who has been invited to share yourself with us.
Food is eaten (of course), stories told, jokes shared, experiences compared, while all that time there is an undercurrent of shared time.
The bonds are formed as you are welcomed into our home. We are changed, moment by moment, experiencing deeper, truer relationships with you.
Children play at our feet or upstairs over our heads, dessert shared, dishes rinsed and stacked, games heavily competed in played.
And when you leave, as we close the door softly behind you, we want you to know, that you are welcome to come back anytime. We will look at each other, quietly sigh and say, "That was lovely."
We will be content with knowing that you were welcomed, loved, encouraged, strengthened to go out "there" again.
