This is me, Jamie (aka Mama, Babe, Jame, Wifeypoo, lovely bride), the authoress
of this esteemed publication, owner of the crow's feet you see in this photo and the freckles you
don't. Yup, this is me, One Blessed Lady. I find joy in my day, mothering and homeschooling my precious kids (who happen to be each other's best friends and best enemies depending on the day) and
being the wife to my bestest, bestest friend. You'll find that I heart lots of things like massages, Mexican
food, exclamation marks, my precious friends and saying "I heart...". I love to laugh at myself and even if
you don't think I'm funny, I think I'm hysterical (or just plain goofy). I love Jesus, my husband, my children and chocolate in that order and I'm living my dream. God has been so gracious and every day I thank Him for my many blessings and for my blog, which is much cheaper than therapy. I'm a friendly sort of gal, and so I'm so thankful you stopped by!
My Paco (Pat, Patrick, Babe, Love), my love story's other half. I adore my husband. Period. He makes me smile and laugh and forget to take myself and life so seriously. He has been my knight in shining armor, rescuing me from my life of dreary and exhausting single motherhood (well maybe it wasn't that bad) and waitressing and has shared with me this life and love that I didn't know was possible. We've been told by several people how unique and special our relationship is and I have a tendendacy to believe them. The way he loves me brings tears to my eyes almost every day, because I feel how much he treasures me. Plus, he's passed on his dimples to my sons. I love him for that. He's a man who is constantly striving to be godly, loving and supportive all at the same time. And guess what? He does it! You'll be hearing a lot about him!
My girl, Maggie (Gi-Gi, Maggers). Heaven knew I needed her. I needed her to teach me how to be a mama and how to be a girl. Armed with a gorgeous smile and a compassionate heart, this girl is ready to turn the world upside down. Quick, intelligent and always ready to learn something new, she's my right hand girl around here. She was our homeschool guinea pig and darned if this girl hasn't started us off on this whirlwind adventure. She devours books and is always willing and ready to share with us what she's learned. Being an oldest, she's blessed (ahem) with the twin gifts of administration and delegating, which we're working on. Unfortunately, these don't often work well with younger siblings. She's learning how to accept things with graciousness and flexibility. She wants to be a rancher, missionary, astronomer, creationist when she grows up, as well as housing homeless people. Hopefully, she'll squeeze wife and mama in there somewhere.
My Sam (Sammy, Sambo, Bubba). The son of my heart as well as my tummy. My little brown boy who has his daddy's dimples
and his Grandpa's crooked grin. He's always been a giant of a boy who's as smart as a whip and taught
himself how to read (no exaggeration). He loves gross boy noises, singing, Star Wars, babies and his daddy's un-funny jokes. We're working on learning how to protect and not pester his sisters (tough for any boy) as well as how to be a godly future man. He idolizes his daddy, wanting to do everything just like him. He's anxious to learn anything and everything about the outdoors that his daddy can teach him and begs to go camping every other day. He really wants to be a fireman and football player one day, as well as a husband and daddy. Works for me.
My Olivia (Ya-Ya, Livy, Livy-Loo). Our surprise baby, coming only sixteen months after her big brother, Ya-Ya has
always kept us on our toes. She's definitely full of sugar and spice, the spice being ginger or cayenne
pepper. In fact, when she was younger, I called her Gingy for quite a while. She may be wee, but she's fierce! Out of the four, she's the one who has the servant's heart naturally and practices helping every oppurtunity she gets. She's a natural mother and dreams of that future day. Not a fearful little girl,
she's the risk-taker and is almost always ready to try something new. She's taught me to laugh at the silliest
little things and take joy in the beauty surrounding me. Our little fashionista, she's interested in all things
related to girls and is quite observant (sometimes too much) when we're out and about. She has a soft heart
and a loud mouth, which we're working on. We're also working on using our feminine wiles for good and not for manipulating her soft-hearted daddy. He's a goner, I tell ya!
My Judah (Ju-Ju, Lil' Bubba, Jude). We thought for a while that he was the caboose, but God has other plans. This boy has a special love for his mama and I could just eat him (especially the dimples) up! A sweet, mellow guy, he too
has a loud mouth and temper, which has us shaking our heads already. Lover of any food or drink, he's already eating as much as or more than his siblings and my future grocery bill is already causing me nightmares. He adores all of his siblings, and has a different relationship with each one. He makes us all laugh, especially when he does all of his funny faces. He is doing every thing he can to keep up with the big kids, not content to just sit around and watch the world go by. He, too, of course is brilliant, his first word being "cookie". See? Told ya, he's a mama's boy.
Here's Jack, the real caboose. He made his debut in February 2011, much to
my delight. This little guy is such a joy to have around and I'm loving
getting to know who he is. I've realized that he
is definitely a people person, fussing whenever he's alone or not being
held. He's really a quite happy baby and possesses rock-star hair.
He's so cool.
This is us! This is our family! We are truly
